I just bought a 120 GB external HDD for the purpose of backing up 3 NTFS computers. Was wondering if I should format into NTFS or leave it FAT32 as it came?

It does not matter. The ONLY advantage to FAT32 is you can get to the drive with DOS/WIN9X boot disk. Less secure than NTFS but for archive purppses, no difference.
