Hi and thank you.

My System:
Pentium III 500 MHz, 320 MB of RAM, 64 MB ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 7500, 40 GB hard drive, Win XP Pro.

My BIOS Info according to http://www.esupport.com/biosagent/:
Program: Unicore BIOS Agent Version 1.9
BIOS Date: 01/21/00
BIOS Type: American Megatrends
BIOS ID: 53-0121-009999-00101111-071595-CAMINO
Chipset: Intel 2501 rev 3
Superio: Winbond 627F/HF rev 3 found at port 2Eh

My Chipset according to Intel Chipset Identification Utility:
Detected Chipset: Intel(R) 820 chipset
Memory controller Hub: 82820
I/O Controller Hub: 82801AA(ICH)

THE PROBLEM:
When I boot the computer and the "Press Del to enter BIOS" page comes out, I press the delete key (even tried F1 and F2) that but the screen goes black and the computer shuts down. However, if I just let it boot, the computer runs just fine. I first noticed that problem few months ago when I run accross a file that would supposedly upgrade my BIOS. Without really checking it out, I excecuted it, and the problem I described took place for the first time. It never bother me until now that I was attempting to install a 'slave' hard drive. I was not able to go into the BIOS and searched for an upgrade on driverguide.com, intel.com, but I was not successful at solving the problem or really knowing waht I am looking for. Is there a way to fix this or to roll-over to the previous driver somehow. I have backed up all my drivers now with the DriverGuide Toolkit.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time and effort.

Hey Gino,
Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif

An '.exe' for a BIOS upgrade? You' been had! Did you save a copy of the original? Not sure how to go about it in XP but you might want to do it again with a good working copy of the original or newer version from a reputable site. But I doubt you even actually accomplished a BIOS upgrade. You may have to choose a restore point in XP and see if it enables you to enter BIOS again..

I never upgrade my BIOS'es. If it ain't broke,,, you know the rest...

Have you done any security scans lately? For Spyware, virus and/or looked at a HiJackThis report? I suggest you do 'tout suite' (immediately). :)
