I have Maxtor 251 Gb hard drive the BIOS read it good whole 251, but Windows XP doesnt read it full only 239 gb when I'm trying to Isntal it end 233gb after it instaled, I did a low level format and tried to instal it on unpartition drive stil the same thing . I got from Maxtor program that eneibles large hard drive over 137 gb . But i couldnt instal it befor windows instalation end after inst it eneibles it but a guess it too late it stil 233gb, the only way I think I can do it change it from NTFS to FAT 32 and format it and than instal it fro DOS before Windows XP instalation. Any other solutions?

Nothing wrong, Windows reads size differently than the HDD people.

No it's all flavors of all Windows and all OS's. It has to do with the number of bytes in a megabyte and it's not 1000. Suffice it to say the number is accurate. Someone who can explain drive geometry or with the willingness to look up a more detailed explianation will be along..
