nothing major here, but, tried some software called "icon packager", un-installed it, but desktop and explorer folders have changed to a different color (dull grey instead of the yellow),,,,, i used Tweak UI to "rebuild icons" which does changed them back to original color, but when i boot up or re-boot, folder colors switch back to the "off" grey color. i'm figuring it's something left behind or changed in the registry??

if someone has a solution to this, would appreciate it,,,,, if not, guess i can get use to the new dull colors. desktop shortcuts i can changed folder icons, but some folder icons (like "my briefcase") no option given to changed icon under folder properties.

as stated, desktop and explorer folder have all changed to a "dull grey"

running win98se

thanks

wow, answering my own reply,,,,, found 2 :stray files in c:\windows & C:\windows\system32,,,, both files being the same in both directories.
desktop.ini file and a "folder.htt" (which had type of icon like tweakiu)

open both up,,, both seem to have something referencing to folders etc. think that "icon packager" had some other type of "tweaking program".

renamed 2 of the files, and deleted all 4 to the recycle bin, ran tweakui again to "rebuild icons" and rebooted, everything seems to be back to normal.

Well, this is an easy one! Also most impressed that you can actually "think" and troubleshoot in the middle of the night. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
