Hello,
There is a strange occurence with my pc. When I plug the power cord in the pwer supply the fans starts to run (like the pc would start) but the pc is not booting, even if I press on Power. I have an ATX. What could cause such a thing?
TIA
Disconnect the power cord, remove the case, disconnect the power button's wiring from the MB, make a temporary connection across the power button terminals on the MB with a screwdriver.
If the system starts normally, replace the power button and wiring.
If the problem still happens, the MB may be bad.

G'day Sebbes,
How's things?
I'm not entirely certain, as to me understanding your query but; I'd like to offer this:
If the power suppply is working but; nothing is appearing on the screen of the monitor and no beeps are generated from the computers speaker, as I understand it, it could be one of three causes.
1) It may be that the computer is not starting up and not sending anything to the monitor.
2) It could be the computer is starting but; the video card is faulty.
3) It could be the monitor that has developed a problem.
If I've understood you correctly, I hope this helps you in regards to causes.
Cheers,
Dazzler.

Make sure all you're motherboard jusmper settings are correct. I had a similar problem after a journey through my case and realised i had not set my jusmpers back the way they should have been.
