I built a system with Athlon XP 2800+, XP home, SOYO Dragon Ultra v1.0 mobo, 1024 megs Ultra PC3200 DDR ram, Seagate Barracuda SATA HD, Radeon 9600 Pro vid card in an X-Blade case with good cooling. The on-screen graphics have this rhythmic pause that is seen with any moving graphics even as simple as scrolling down in a window or dragging a card across the screen in Solitaire. It happens with streaming video from the internet and I see it when running the "Caves" demo from ATI. I had hoped that this would be a decent gaming system but the video glitch is stopping me from playing anything! I have updated the drivers for the vid card and the mobo. Using SP2 but the problem was seen prior to updating to SP2. Of note, when looking in device manager>hardware profile>game, video controllers>video codec, the properties of the video codec shows that the MPEG/JPEG codec may have a problem. I have checked around and do not see how to fix this (if this is even the problem) Does this sound like hardware, software or possibly the cpu having its attention diverted? Please help! I want my first build to work right.
