Hey,

I would seriously wonder about either the power supply or too much heat. Bad RAM will do the same thing, although it's more likely to just cause a complete freeze up.

The clicking sounds could be coming from the power supply.

Usually, when a harddrive starts making noise, it's too late, it's already died.

Pop open the side of the case and see if you can pinpoint the noise a little better. While you're in there, make sure the CPU fan is working correctly and make sure everything is free from dust buildup.

Post back with your progress.

Cheers,

thanks for the help, i have already took off the case and turned on the power, it is definatly not the fan, power supply, dust build up and it is not bad RAM because i have just had it changed to try and stop the problem but it never did. the only thing it can be is the hard drive so i will have to get a new one.
thankyou

Chad,
I had the same problem several months ago. I put in an extra fan and the problem cleared up. $15 fix.

Hope it helps

Power supply, even though it's working can very well be a culprit. For the computer to reboot it has to lose it's power-good sigal. More dear Watts, go 400. If you haven't already. An insufficient power supply can do weird things to your system.
