Guys,

I have small issue with a Acer laptop, every so often it will just freeze (normally the Hard drive light is constantly on). When I say freeze, I mean totally, the mouse cursor will not move or not able to C+A+D.

I suspect that there maybe a problem with the hard drive, because when it restarts some of the files are often corrupted, including the last time the system event log !!!!

Is there anything else beside the hard drive which you guys think may be causing these system lockups??

What is the OS?

Download the diagnostics from the hard drive manufacturer and test the drive.

Please post the results.

Is the computer under warranty?

Have you called tech support?

What did they say?
