I HAVE A FUJITSU HARD DRIVE. IF I TRY TO PARTITION AND FORMAT IT WITH THE JUMPES ON WINDOWS WILL ONLY AKNOWLEDGE A SIZE OF 2 GB . THE HD IS OF 6.5 GB . IF I DO THE PARTITION AND THE FORMATING WITHOUT THE JUMPERS ON THE WINDOWS WILL KNOW THAT THE DRIVE IS 6.5GB . ANYONE KNOWS WHY?

Try this, go into bios at boot up. The key is usually DELETE.

Under CMOS Setup, under hard drive, primary, make sure to plus or minus the last setting till you get to LBA. This should work if your system is not to old.

We realy need some specs on your system and all the information you can get.

This is one if you do not understand what you are doing do not do it, and that is a BIOS upgrade. Post back and let us know.

Did you either use a 95 startup disk or forget to hit y when fdisk asks about large drive support?

Both of those will leave you with a 2gig partition.

thanks for your interest. no , i used a win 98 start up disk and i always choose to use large disk. i have done this with this hd about 4 times and the results are the same . jumpers on 2gb are only recognized , jumpers off 6.5gb are recognized. any other cause for this strange situation? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
