Hi,
I have recently replaced the cmos battery in an old IBM Thinkpad 560X. Now on startup I'm getting the expected 161 and 163 errors to do with date and time. However, I'm also being asked to put in a password?? I have not previously set a bios or startup password on this machine. Does anyone know if there is a standard bios password or how to override it? I've been informed that you can do something with password jumpers on the motherboard, but I've had the thing to bits and can't seem to find where these might be. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Hoody.
