I've got friend that bought a Pionex computer system two years ago from QVC. He's got a Biostar M6TWG Mobo with the 810 Chipset (not 810E0). He has an Award Bios ACPI/ APM 1.2 - not sure what version/date. He originally had 32meg RAM in his DIMM 1 slot and 64 meg RAM in his Dimm 2 slot. He recently upgraded his RAM with 256 meg in DIMM 1 and 128 Meg in Dimm 2. He rebooted, got the splash screen and then it went blank. He put his old memory back in and still nothing. He's tried every configuration with old and new memory with no luck. I'm not sure what brand of new memory he bought but we are certain that it has been properly seated. He doesn't have a graphics card and I am aware that the 810 chipset incorporates integrated graphics that uses system RAM. Is this a common problem with these chipsets? Doe he possibly need a BIOS upgrade? He also lost his sound. He hooked up an old monitor and now has minimal resolution. We looked at his Display properties and it seems that his Intel Graphics card and Control Panel Utility is now not being recognized. Sorry this is so long winded but I always see responses that talk about inadequate information being supplied. Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi Birnster,
Sometimes, after installing new RAM, you need to go into the BIOS, don't do anything, and exit. I don't know why, but I've seen it work. Might be worth a try. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks Steve. Tried it (went there before though), and no help. Pionex seems to have bailed. No one answering their phones and website not accessable. Tried reinstalling motherboard, video, and sound drivers from restore disk, still nothing. Bios is recognizing both new memory modules (256 in Dimm 1 & 128 in Dimm 2). Wondering if something has to be reset in Bios for graphics to "integrate" with new memory?

Hi Birnster,
I don't know if you've been here, but it's a little more info on the 810 chipset and video.

Steve, Thanks again! I'm going to get LD (my friend) to do the "standard VGA" driver installation and to check and make sure that the Intel graphics device is, in fact enabled. Don't know if Device manager recognizes the Intel Graphics driver yet. I'll update you. Again, thanks for your help!
