Pentium III 550 with XP SP2 installed.

I leave the PC on constantly (can't seem to get a good answer on whether that is good or bad) but before retiring for the night I press the sleep button.

I hear the drives slow down and the monitor goes blank with the yellow LED.

Problem is, when we want to use the PC next morning....mouse or keyboard will not bring the system back up.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I faced similar problem before and all I did was to press power button once to resume from standby. Just see if it works for you.

If you have a usb keyboard or mouse, then this link (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=878467)may help you.

If this doesn't work, then try this...
Goto Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager
Then goto Keyboard > Power Management and make sure "Allow this device to bring computer out of standby" option is checked.
Repeat the same procedure for mouse.
