Hi
I've put together a 1.1 G Athlon on a Gigabyte GA-7DX motherboard
with a 256meg strip of DDR .
My problem is I can't get this set up to post although power is getting to the M/B nothing .
I,ve tried switching dimm sockets from 1 to 2 ,but no go ,I've even just left the M/B with the bare minimum connected up but still no go I'm begining to suspect the memory strip .
So please if anyone has any suggestions they would be most welcome in this corner .

You probably want to do an "isolation" of components to determine the culprit....Try this:
1. Only run system with mobo[duh], video, ram & cpu.....be certain the cpu is, in fact, a DDR only cpu and that you are using PC1600 DDR modules [it won't work with 2100 ram]....If no post, then
2. Replace video card......if no post..
3. Replace DDR module....if no post..
4. Another CPU.....if no post.......MOBO is prob. OR you have a short. Others may have a better way to isolate the prob.
