Hi everyone,

I have a Intel Pentium III 1.o GHz (new machine), and a PIII 550MHz(old machine). I thought it would be eazy to just move my HD to the new machine turn it on and I would be in goon shape. But far from been that easy.

The new machine reboots goes and give me the Start Windows and after that screen goes black and one bip and it reboots again.

Does someone knows what I am doing wrong? Or do I will be better off just reformatting the disk and install everything.
I should mantion that I have 20G in the new machine and 10g in the old one so I copy the disk using Ghost.

Please if anyone have some ideas of how I can make this work I will appreciate.

THX

Ok, so do you now have the contents of your drive transferred to the 20GB drive and are trying to boot from it?

Or, did take the old drive and physically install it in the new machine?

If you put the old drive in the new machine is the an operatng system on the the new drive?

If the old drive is in the new machine did you set the drive jumpers to make one of them the master and the other the slave?

If you are trying to boot to an old install of Windows the chances are that it will not behave very well because of all the changes that have taken place and fresh install would be best.

What I did was to copy the Old HD into the New one. I tried to use the old HD by itself or the new HD by itself but both gave me the same result.

I only want one HD on the new machine. I gues I could reinstall Win2k.

Thanks,
