I need help. My daughter owns a HP Pavillion PC. It was working fine when she shut it down and moved it to my house. I went to hook it up to my monitor and it sounded like it was going to start then nothing happened. After a little bit I shut it down and tried it again. Well after thinking it didn't like my "plug&play" monitor I hooked up the orginal monitor. Once again it sounded like it was going to start then after a few minutes a message pops up and states that windows has successfully installed the video adapter. Nothing happens after this and I cannot do anything with the keyboard or mouse either. It is like it is locked. After several tries and getting the same response, I thought I would try my emergency boot disk. Well the 'puter seems to go through the motions but nothing happens. I then tried to install the system restore disk and once again nothing happens. WHAT HAPPENED?????

Thanks to all...

The first thing I would suggest is to shut down the system Unplug it from the wall outlet.
Open the case and reseat all the cards and cable connections.

During the moving process something was bumped loose. (Video card) Possibly ..

This is common when a unit is moved around.
One of the reasons many people will remove the hard drive from a system during moving.

forgot to mention that I did open up the computer and check everything. It appears that everything is still seated snuggly.
