Could anyone recomend a new hard drive for my girlfriend's dell latitude c600 I am leaning towards a hitachi travel star 40 gb 7200. Since I don't know much about hitachi's computer componants is it a good replacement for her current dell 10 gb. Also how hard would it be to transfer all of her files and programs to a new hard drive?

The latitude C600 will accept either the 2.5 " or 3.5" hardrive so the Hitachi should be fine. For backup and transfer from the old drive to the new, the easiest method would be to copy the old drive contents to a CD and reload on the new drive. If you have PC Anywhere, Win XP, or Laplink you can tranfer to another computer and the back to the new hardrive.
