Hi All:

I have an OKI 590 ML dot matrix printer that has worked well for years. Now that we are migrating our users to XP I'm experiencing very slow printing. I've been convinced up to this point it is a driver problem; however, no matter what driver I user or how it is configured the same slow printing goes on.

In addition to the slow printing, I'm trying to set up a new form for our checks and it refuses to take the correct size of 9x7 inches. Oddly, if I put in 8.5 x 7 inches things are fine, go another hundreth of an inch and the form does not show up as a selection in the printer dialog.

Any thoughts or ideas on this would greatly reduce my stress level.

Lexmark printers (mine and others) require a special patch from Lexmark to function on Win Xp. Go to the Oki website and see if there is a patch for your model printer to work with Win Xp. On a quick look through the Oki site:

I didn't notice any support for anything later than Me. I'd say, unless one of the print wizards has a solution, use the "contact us" and ask them about an Xp patch, or what to upgrade with in tems of new equipment. I put 590 ML in the search box and got the "Microline Series 590". There is a support icon with the two listings, and their support site:

It will accept questions if you are a "registered user"

Thanks Donn!

I sent Oki support an email and will post their response.
