Hi, can anyone help with this simple error? My pc stops after indicating there is a Checksum error. Before this I had unplugged the CMOS Clear jumper on my motherboard from the default 1-2 pin and placed it in 2-3 pin for a few seconds, and then put it back to 1-2 pin(did all this while the computer is off).

1. Does it make sense what I was trying to do? I wanted to set my CMOS to default.
2. If it is not the right way, how do I do it correctly?
3. How do I now fix my Checksum error?

thanks!

All need to do is enter the cmos using the correct key or key combo.
Let the system read the total amount of installed memory and hard drives attached to your system
The Exit and save the data.
The cmos error should stop.
