I have an LG DVDROM/CDRW combo drive on my pc (running winxp sp2) and recently i had a DVDRW installed so that i could burn dvds as well.

Now i find i can't burn cds on the LG drive.

The drives show up as :
1.NEC DVDRW ND 2500A
2. HL-DT-ST RW/DVD GCC 4520b

in the device manager.

i have tried uninstalling the hardware, i've also tried looking for driver updates but i've only found a firmware update on the LG site which i'm a little wary of applying right now.

any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
