Hi, first post and big hello from London.

I have recently purchased a Belkin PCI Firewire card and have downloaded drivers etc and works fine, transfering DV cam to software no probs.

However, when the card is attached to any of the PCI slots the comp will not shutdown but will just restart. Therefore only way to turn off is to take plug out.

The OS is windows 98se and a Athlon 1.1 Ghz ( just been given to me by father so have not checked bios or model ).

Belkin say something about disabling the acpi on the bios but i could not find that option under power management.

Any ideas gratefully received

Well without knowing the BIOS maker or the model of motherbaord the best I can come up with is to go through the BIOS page by page looking for the setting...also having the manual for the board would be a good idea, so if you find the model of the board you should be able to find the manual online....
