Hi, hope someone can help.

When I print I get faint black smudges on the paper. With a non-white background (a text box with a fill colour) these smudges are worse.

I've taken out the cartridge and shaken it and it helps when printing plain text on a white background but doesn't seem to do a lot for the non-white background printing.

Is the next step just to get a new cartridge?? I don't mind doing this but the cartridge is reasonably new and don't want to if this won't solve the problem.

Grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks

John

Have you used your printers 'clean nozzle' facility? Have you tried to clean the carriage with alcohol? Have you (I sound like a broken record.. ) refilled your ink cartridges and 'not' taped over the hole?

Smudges just sounds like something ran and dirtied up where the jets or lasers are...

FTT,
That ML6100 is a laser printer.
jgerard,
Welcome to PC Guide forums!
It is possible to have a bad cartridge (wiper blade) or buildup in the fuser. Hoping the cartridge fixes it.
