Now, I'm having bad luck. My colors are way off and I haven't changed anything. Does that mean I need a new video card? All of the colors dark and it doesn't really do any good when I try and change them.

Try the monitor on a nother machine...if it does the same thing it is the monitor, not the video card. If the monitor works on another machine, see if you can find a setting for gamma in the video properties, and raise it......
