Are the connectors on a laptop CD-ROM the same as an ordinary CD drive. Its just I've got a computer which has thin drive bays and I'm currently running a CD-ROM on top of it with the case open. That’s why I was just wondering if laptop CD-ROMs had the same IDE Interface and 5.25in Drive power connector.

Sorry if any of the above is wrong (I'm not sure about the power connector bit). Thanks in advanced for any responses :)

NO they don't
Laptop drives have a special set of connectors

Today I have never seen an adapter to allow them to be hooked up to a desktop system
Like those used to install a laptop hard drive
