I am a first time computer builder and I need some help. Put everything together and cpu worked good for awhile and then started to shut down by itself and finally wouldn't even boot up when the power button was pushed. Bought a new power supply and connected everything and now when I push the power button nothing happens. Please help! Thanks.

Oh boy. I always hate to see this happen to a first-timer!

Gonna need more info about your system. Mostly hardware. What mobo, CPU, RAM (how much and # of sticks), hard drive(s), optical drive(s), and how everything is set-up. Also need to know what happened during the times it shut down. Did the system make it into Windows? Was Windows freezing during booting? When did it last POST successfully? Does anything come on like fans anymore?

First thing to try - barebones boot. Just the mobo, PSU, CPU, monitor, keyboard, one stick of RAM, and the vid card (if you have a separate one). No hard drive or anything else connected. Try that and get back to us.
