I changed from Windows ME to Windows XP.
In Windows ME I had DMA support for my drives, in XP not.
somewhere I find that the reason is that my bios doesn´t has ASL-code implemented in my systembios.
I have already the newest systembios installed.
Can anyone explain me what ASL is and if possible have a solution for this problem.

Many thanks in advance. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi severins and welcome,
You could start Here (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=asl+code) until one of the pro's drops in.

Hello severins,

Welcome to http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif Forums!
Someone here probably knows exactly what you are talking about and has an answer...in the meantime I would suggest taking a look at THIS (http://www.microsoft.com/hwdev/tech/onnow/BIOSAML.asp) article.

I found this article doing a GOOGLE (http://www.google.com) search using "ASL Code." There was quite a bit of information to be found there. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
