I've recently acquired an old super socket 7 motherboard (Luckytech P5MVP3) and I need a bit of advice regarding one of the jumper settings.

The board comes with 512K cache RAM but there is a jumper which allows me to set it to either Interleave Burst or Linear Burst. Can anybody explain to me the difference between the 2 and advise which is the better setting?

It depends on what type of processor your have.

Interleave Burst AMD and Intel

Linear Burst Cyrix

Read you MB manaul to make sure as to what your board needs in order to work with a certain chip.

Version 1.3 of the MB manaul can be found here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~elhvb/mboards/luckytech/Index.html

Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Thanks for the reply.

Sadly, the board was proving far too problematic to be worth wasting my time on so it's ended up in the bin. Actually, I did pinch the CMOS battery so I suppose I did get something useful from it!
