Alright here is an interesting one. Me and a friend of mine are making a projector with and old lcd screen and we have gotten every thing to work so far. We only have one problem though... there are two chips in the way. There is the chip that is controls the horozonatal lines and another that controls the vertical lines. Now these two chips are connect to gether by what I geuss you would call a very small ribbon wire consisting of 21, 1mm wide copper wires encased in some sort of silicon. not the wire can seperat quitesily and is simply locked into place by a very small clamp. Now by detatching this wire we can move the two chips away from the lcd and get the whole lcd but then we re only left with the vertical lines. My question is this, does anyone know of where i would be able to get a wire like this as to extend the connection between the two chips? Or, does any know of a program in which i could limit the picture on the screen to a designated area on the scree?

I can only partially answer your question, controlling the screen size (resolution) is what the video driver in a computer does, so you would need some sort of software to provide that function, which implies a computer to control it...
The term "projector" doesn't quite sound right, if I understand the intent of your project. A projector sends a visual image through a lens, using light, onto a wall or tripod mounted screen, most commonly white because any other color tints other certain color bands. What you're trying to do sounds more like a video monitor, the LCD screen being intended to display the picture, rather than it being projected onto a physical screen.
If that's the case, what is being used to send the picture to the LCD? If it's something like a video camera or VCR/DVD player, a standard TV would be your best bet, they are already both calibrated to the same screen resolution. The only other option I can think of would be a radio signal to the LCD to carry the image, which would require a reciever at the very least, and possibly a computer, to decode the radio signal and send it to the actual screen.
So what, exactly, are you trying to do? Give us a better description, you may get some better answers.

Well here is the project that we are undertaking if that helps you in any way.
