There is a CD Rom game that I play often - Madden 2002 football by EA Sports. It is one of only three CD roms that I have and I play it so often that I'll just leave it in the drive. Lately, though, when I click on the Icon to start it up, I get a message similar that says "Please check the CD and try again." I do so, and the message re-appears. In fact, it will appear five times in a row before another box comes up that says "You must have a CD Rom in order to install!" Also, when this happens, I cannot eject the CD. So what's the deal with all of this?
Thanks! http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
Try booting to a boot disk, open the drive, take out the CD, clean it; get a CD drive cleaning kit and use it...quite probably you have a dirty drive.

Double click MY COMPUTER, double click CONTROL PANEL, double click ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS, click on the START UP DISK tab...you'll need a diskette...follow the directions to make...
Shut down, insert disk, and reboot...
