I currently have a dvd ram dl burner, which I have copied a few movies, I then in turn found out that this is the least compatable format. I am going to purchase DL DVD +-RW/DVD +- r. My question is: If I insert already burned DVD RAM movies and use my new burner to copy thos movies, will they be in the new format or will I need to copy to the DVD +-R format from the original movie. DOes this make snese, if so, can someone answer the question, thanks

If you copy the files to a DVD-r, or DVD+r, the file will stay the same. only the way the data is arranged on the disk will alter. As the disk format is the problem with DVD-RAM, you should be OK, if the original file format is correct.

Remember that very few drives will read DVD-RAM disks, so you will need to keep that drive as well. Just decide on what format disks you will need to use, and pick an appropriate drive.
