I just bought a used T20 on ebay, supposedly in excellent working condition. It keeps booting up in what must be crt mode as the window is way too big and u can not see everything. I went into bios and changed it to boot to lcd, but it keeps doing it. On occasion it will boot up normal and then I can use it.
It is hard to explain, it is like it is booting up in 640 x480 mode. Even the IBM Thinkpad display is too big and u can not even see the rest of the screen. I installed new video drivers, reinstalled windows xp etc. Even upgraded the bios.
I am guessing a video driver issue as it is messed up before windows even starts.
ANY HELP is greatly appreciated as it was a xmas prsent and the guy on ebay said tough luck... I am stuck with it.
email me please......I would be so grateful

donberry,

Have you tried holding down the Fn key [function key] and "toggling" the F7 key ?? Just to see what happens.

On my T21 the F7 key has a "monitor symbol" on it, I'm assuming your T20 is the same, IF NOT look for monitor symbol.
