i have a gateway laptop with a lcd screen, and on the right side of the screen i have one virtical line that apperes when i start my notebook up.
If i put a little pressure on the front or back of the screen it fixes, when i let go it returns. Most of the time i can press on the outer frame and i hear a little click sound and the line will disapear. Then if i press on the other side of the outer from it will return. But it is getting harder to make it disapear.

any segestion, or diagrams to what it could be or how to fix it.

Recklessharpsho,
You likely have a bad flexible cable to the LCD display. Most notebooks use ribbon cables and they can crack due to the repeated opening/closing of the screen assy. The part can be replaced (usually $40) plus labor.

my notbooks if about 6 months old mybe alittle older. Also if it is the ribbon cable would it be possable to replace it my self.

I would like to open the frame of the screen but i dont want to make it worse some how. i dont know what is in the inside and how to handle it. if i could see i diagram i would feel more comfortable.

If it under warranty (and it might be at that age), I would get it fixed under warranty.
Contact Gateway technical support to see what the options are for repair.
