Any of the big brands like alienware, voodoo, dell, acer are great computers. The alienware laptops range to $1,500 to $4,000 dollars as do the voodoos. Most of the voodoos are 64 bit Amds while the many of the alienwares come with big P4s. 17inch screens may be hard to find by alienware I don't remember seeing one but most likely there are some. The XPS by dell is a good system if u don't mind having a two-inch laptop. I have never really cared for acer because i don't like the way they look so i don't know much about them. The dells and the voodoos and the alienware have monstrous mobile high end gaming cards in them. The alienware might have a brighter and shaper display than the dell too. A plus to alien ware is all of the components and peripherials available as well as software. Such as security software/microsoft office/etc. The peripherials on alienware seam to be much cheaper than configuring the systems on other companies. I recommend alienware but i know they cost a petty penny and i dream the day i can get my own. with any company a gaming compatible laptop is gonna cost some bucks at least $1,500. for the basics.
hope this was helpfull

A reccomendation, Sager laptops have bad keyboards for gaming. The response time is awful when multipule keys are pressed at the same time or really quickly.
