Is it ok to delete ALL .tmp files on my C drive? I read where these are unnecessary and can be deleted. True?

Be careful! DON’T DELETE ANYTHING BUT THE TMP FILES!!! Anything you delete is not recoverable! If you didn’t put the file there and it’s not a .tmp file, don’t delete it!

If you want to.....do a "Find Files" and type: *.tmp... and delete them.
Just go to Start/Find/Find Files or Folders and go from there.

what version of Windows are you running?
In Win9x there is a disk cleanup tool...it can be used to clean temp files (it may not get all of them but it will get most of them).

Check out this link (http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article05-008), and look around on this page (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/win98/maintain/first.asp?frame=true) to find some other junk on your hard drive that's safe for deletion.
