you say you need to keep 97 as well as2000? could it be a similar situation I had with word.

at work I have Office 97, at home I have Office 2000. Having built some docs at home I found that I couldn't open them at work. so I set Word 2000 to maintain the same settings as 97 (under compatability) I'm assuming that you need to do something similar

in excel there is an option for dual format 97-2000

If you still need to have both, I had a similar thing with autoroute; when I installed 2001 it over-wrote 2000. I just re-installed 2000 and now have both.

Yeah i definitly need to have both. im just wondering if any conflictions will start brewing. another thing i want to know is if theres a way to install 2000 without overwriting 97.

don't know, but I would suspect the same as I found with autoroute that the later version over writes the earlier, so afterwards you need to re-install the earlier to have both.

If you're going to try it, do a backup 1st (just in case)

or wait for a reply from someone who has tried it
