i recently built a computer :AMD Athlon 1.4GHZ
MOBO/ABIT KR7A-R
256 DDR RAM
MAXTOR 20GB HHD
Soundblaster 5.1 Live-SNDCRD
Creative Labs V.92 Modem
when i first installed the hrdware and sftware i ran into problems with blue error screens and freeze ups but the sndcrd worked and i could go online, but, because of the constant blue screens and freezes i reformatted the hrddrv and reinstalled everything. now, my mobo won't recognize my modem or sndcrd. i've tried switching PCI slots and i've adjusted the IRQ to coincide with the com port(i'm still new at this)but nothing seems to work. help is appreciated.

I have to suggest that you first remove the sound card and the modem.
Reset you bios to the shipped / startup defaults

Depending on the modem you are using follow the install directions included with the modem.
( For example USR Pci modems want you to run the install program Before Installing the modem)

Once you have the Modem installed and working.
Go online and download the Updated SB51 drivers.
Those supplied with the card on the cd are Junk.
They cause BSOD VxM errors.

Then installed the SB and the Updated drivers

One more point.
When you install the SB ensure that it is Not in a shared PCI slot with the Modem or other device
