how to make it accessible in my XP SP1 system? It can work on other machines, even on my old laptop, but not my desktop, and i'm also using a usb removable hdd, flash drive and another 128mb mp3 player which can be detected perfectly. However, during testing, only my 512mb mp3 player was plugged in.
There was an I/O error prompt. Any way to rectify?
See if it works on another system.
If not, then it may be bad.
If it does, then post the exact text of the I/O error message.

Yes it works on other systems(my bro's comp and my laptop), I even bring it back to the retailer for an exchange, but it works on their machine, so I couldn't ask for 1-1 exchange. So I know it must be my system. The funny thing is that the icon on the bottom right taskbar indicates no error(when i right clicked and check properties) when it is plugged in.
The message is... (E:\ is the mp3 drive when plug in)
"E:\ could not be accessed. The request could not be perfomed due to an I/O device error."
Are any of the other systems running Windows XP SP-1?
Did you try it in all of the USB ports?
Are there any problems with it in Device Manager?

1) Yes. Problem still exist.
2) Yes. Problem still exist.
3) No.
I'm baffled....
Check your MB manuf's site for any d/l's that addresss the problem.
If none, then it's possible that your system's MB is not compatible with the player.
