Taken from motherboard monitor 5, on my system 1.4ghz tbird (not o/c), Asus A7V266, 256mb crucial DDR, Antec 300W PSU. Look at the negative voltages.. they are way out!! Is this normal ??

(btw don't pay attention to those temperatures, hehe my chip's not really running at -32deg C...)

Hi Nosirrah
Thos voltages are NOT normal. The usual toleramce for voltages is about5%. Either your power supply is on its way out, or, and from the figures possibly more likely, the monitor program is not right. With negative voltages like that I would not expect the machine to work. Have you checked them with a meter, a real multimeter?

Hi David, im afraid i haven't got a multimeter..!
Double check to see that you have the proper chips selected...it may be that you do not have the correct one selected for the sensors. If it is the correct one then definitely get a multimeter on it and check out the voltages.....

You can buy a multimeter pretty cheap. Most hardware stores have them. You will always use it, if it was me I would spend a little more money and get a good one. If you deside to buy a good one post back for more information, or do a google search for one.

MBM is reading the voltages wrong, either because you have the wrong chip selected, like mjc said, or because your board is not completely supported...if the voltages were really that far off, I doubt you'd be taking screen shots with it...

The (-) negative voltages were used on the PSI Bus
for equipment that is long gone.
I don't recall any of the later Mboards today using
negative voltages. Could be one around that uses -5v
on a serial port.
Be concerned with the +3.3V and the +5V rails. Yours
are right on schedule. And of course the +12V side.
A PSU Mfg. is allowed +/- 5% error.
Luck.
