1-First of all this is what my computer looks like.....
I had one 250 gig C: drive originally and the builder split up my C:drive......
so now it looks like this C:drive 9.76 gig and 3 other partitions created from C:drive
131 gig E:drive /partition, D:drive/partition 67.30 gig empty , F:drive /partition 23.80 gig
all of them are empty except C:drive which is 95% full

I need to enter a new size for the c: partition and not sure how to do it using the software
I plan on resizing, my c :drive it is now its 9.76 gig want to make it larger to about 30 gig ) and want to take away 20.24 gig from my d drive reducing its space from 67.30 to 47.06 space of gig

So first I guess I select c: drive from the graphic..... and click next
and this part I am not sure of which option do I need for enlarging the c drive, do I > "insert a specific amount of free space before the partition enter a value in the free space before box " 20.24 gig add to 9.76 gig c drive =30 gig ? or would that be after the partition and after box ?? which of these two options do I use to enter extra amount of gig I need to enlarge the c drive and do I do the c drive first or the d drive first ?
and click next

Then I select a partition from which space may be taken
that would be the D: drive which is now 67.30 gig which is too large and click next
I need to take 20.24 gig from it so D:drive/partition it will become 47.06 gig
So now do I select the D:drive ? and click next ok that part I understand

and then "insert a specific amount of free space after the partition enter a value in the free space after box"
or would this be before and before box instead of after and after box ?? for enlarging my c drive deduct 20.24 gig from D drive 67.30gig = 47.06 gig
its all muddy to me about which option I need to choose to enter the numbers for the gig for enlarging c drive and reducing d drive or is it c drive and d partition ?

or instead of typing a value should I use up down arrows ........or right left handles ? and next

So to reiterrate what I am planning on doing is enlarging/adding space to c drive/partition and shrinking the D drive/partition

And then finally I will see graphs on the software that shows the c:drive at 9.76 gig before and at 30 gig after and the e:drive at 67.30 gig before and the D:drive at 47.06 gig after ( in otherwords 4 graphics ? ) is that correct ?

And click finish and apply and yes ,

I prefer to manually decrease the size of the relevant partition first to make space available for the c drive - rather than use any wizards. So I would first resize the D drive so that it has zero free space after it but however much free space you want for the C drive in front of it; the actual size of the d drive should then appear smaller by the same amount.

Then hit apply.

Then resize the c drive by setting the free space befora and after it to zero.

Then hit apply.

If you have any problems doing this from windows and involving rebooting and so forth then do exactly the same thing but from the 2 boot floppies.

I just find it safer to do things this way since the most likely time you will have problems is when a drive is already very full. If you can temporarily make some additional space available on the full c drive that can be a good move.

Always backup your important data before using any partitioning tools.

PS
Resizing the D drive will take much longer than resizing the C drive upwards because much more data needs to be physically relocated.
