Hello, Everyone: Right now i have an evaluation download of Winzip but i want to switch to a different free zip program! Now my question is this; What happens to the files that are compressed, can i change to the new zip program with no problem and will the new program take over the already zipped files and unzip them when i need them? Anyone do this before please let me know, Tom
You should have no problems after making the switch, I have gone through several zip managers before deciding on the one I currently am using (and am contemplating another switch because the one I am using is now pay-for shareware instead of freeware...). Each one I tried before had the option to associate all zipped files (or any kind of archive that it recognized) with itself.

Hi mjc: So when i switch the new one will recognize all zipped files and will give the option to take them over, is this correct? Tom
All the ones I've used before have.....
Either at the install or the first run.
