Last week I was in Windows update website and found an update for my graphic card (Diamond SpeedStar A200) for Win2k after installing this update I noted –sometimes- a black line crossing the monitor width up to down and sometimes don’t do that.
Anyway, ( I have duel booting Win98 and Win2k ) when booting from Win98 the monitor is OK for me that means it is not a monitor problem, anyway before the update every thing was OK, even when format my hard disk and reinstall win2k the same problem exist.
Can anyone help

Sounds like your suspicion about the driver is correct, if you can remember which version of the driver you were using before the update go back to using it, you may need to remove the current drivers and switch to a "standard VGA device" to get it to install.

You may need to go to the manufacturer's site and grab the driver there, or use the drivers from the install disk that came with the card...just make sure that you grab the Win2k version.

Hallo MJC
Anyway, I told that I have formatted the HD and reinstall Win2k and the OS used the driver came with it (I main Win2k recognize the device automatically) but still the same problem.
Now I don't use the driver came with the device (because it's just for Win98) nor the update from Windows Update, Sorry I main "Downgrade"!!!
