Help please!!! I have rebuilt a system with a DFI motherboard, an Athlon1Gig processor with a 300 w power supply, 640 mgs ram, a GEforce video card. It was working just fine until I laid it down to install a network card. Now when I start it, it goes through the video message, lists the processor, and then stops. It stays that way as long as it is powered on. I checked the RAM, bought new RAM, checked to see if the cards are all seated. I cannot think of any reason this isn't working.

STD's can ruin your day did you ground your self? try reseating everything and installing them one at a time until you find the culprit?

Did you pull the network card?

I was testing a couple of cards yesterday, and I have one that would hang the boot process, when pulled everything would boot as normal...I either had the card setup wrong or it is bad (most likely).

Does it show a I/O Conflict error at bootup? i had this problem with a card and went into the bios and set those to AUTO and it worked around it..if ya bios will let ya do that. may be a jumper on the card itself that needs to be reconfigured to meet your needs ..but a bootup error.. it should be a setting in the bios that has that I/0 setting (that your card is set to) dedecated for something else and setting those on auto in the bios should work..if ya cant then it has to be done on the card..and if thats not possible its a new card trip.
