You have mixed various players or CD recorders or other software that are working with CD. Most of these programs adds a *.vxd driver to the windows\system\iosubsys directory. ALL of these drivers are loaded at windows startup, and usually are not removed when you uninstall the corresponding software.
To track the driver that creates the conflict open this directory with windows explorer, and start checking the properties of all files with extention .vxd, by mouse right click on them, and then selecting page "Version". Drivers acting with CDs, usually have the letters "CD" in their name or description. Try to find drivers of manufacturers other than Microsoft, and rename them (one by one) from *.vxd to *.vx_, and reboot the system. Try to use CD, probably you will find the one blocking your system. If you have too many programs of the kind I mentioned before, it could be more than one vxd drivers that create conflict, so try to "remove" more than to one at a time.
When you will find the one blocking your system, you have not to uninstall the corresponding software if you want it any way. Continue the test with drivers of other simmilar programs.
Generally, you must consider that usually you will have problems if you use more than one software in any of these categories:
a) CD Recorder
b) DVD Player
c} Audio Player
