I am having major problem with my computer and i might need to foramte my hard disk,

How do I do this?

What Operating System are you using? This will do it for Windows 95/98:

1. Make sure you have a bootable system disk(you can create one in windows by formating the disk as a an Ms Dos startup)
2. Boot from the boot disk
3. Type Format and hit enter

Windows XP

Go here http://www.bootdisk.com and get a boot disk. You need to download the file to a temp directory then open it and copy to a disk. Then you'll have a boot disk that you can use to install XP. But that's just to make sure your H.D. is ready to use. After that make CD Rom bootable and put in XP cd and let her rip.

Also, responses have been posted in that topic, try the suggestions they have posted and let the responders know what the situation is before a full reinstall is considered an option. It might not be necessary, and we always consider a format and reinstall to be a last resort only.
