Some system specs would help here but you could try this

NTLDR is the file to load NT. Backup your data, then insert the Win2000 CD, and reboot. You'll get the setup/install options. There is an option to reinstall/fix your Win2000 installation. Run this option. This should hopefully fix your issues.

solution #2:
NTLDR stands for NT Loader. It is the application executed by your system BIOS on an NT machine. This problem occurs if it is removed either intentionally or accidentally. This can be fixed by either booting from the Windows CD and repairing the installation or if your system partition is FAT, you can simply copy NTLDR from the root of a Hard Disc of another Windows PC with the same OS to the machine with the problem.

..you can simply copy NTLDR from the root of a Hard Disc of another Windows PC with the same OS to the machine with the problem...

The important part of that statement is that the NTLDR must be the from the same version of NT as you have installed for this to work. You can't get an NT 4.0 file to use on a W2K machine; or an XP version to use on an W2K PC, and vice versa.

These kind of problems are why it is so important to install the recovery console, this way you have a true safe mode to boot into in order to repair your installation.
