building a new system using a Dell GX300 and cannot power it up. am wondering if i have used the wrong power supply, a standard ATX or have I gotten the pin-out wrong on the control panel. From what I have been able to gather from other sites is that 6/8 are power on ? also will this board work with non-ecc rdram ?

In my dealings with Dell, the power supplies are often not standard, but proprietary, meaning that the PS needs to come from Dell as well as the Mobo. The pin-outs on the P1 Mobo connector are not the same for Dells and if you have hooked it to a standard power supply, well, it might be too late. Check the mobo book and then look on the net for a standard P1 pinout. See if they match.

Just a theory.
