Hi - Welcome to the PC Guide Forum!
I've had a quick google, and found this: http://www.mainboard.cz/mb/via/P4MAPro533.htm
Is this your motherboard? (VIA P4MAPro533)
this system has onboard graphics, which are agp8, - this should be fine for everything except demanding games.
Playing audio and having problems shouldn't have anything to do with the graphics card, although if you are having problems with graphics as well, you need to look at each problem individually.
Sound problems causing lock-ups can be due to several things, but the first place I'd look is device drivers - go into control panel>system>hardware>device manager and see if there are any yellow boxes or red marks next to any of the devices - if you select the device, you can choose to upgrade the drivers if necessary.
A similar approach should be used with the graphics card, but do make sure you do things separately - it doesn't do anything for your learning process if you try to do too much at once and not be able to figure out what the actual cure was.
How much RAM do you have in the system? What OS are you using?
do you use a firewall/antivirus? post back with some more details and we'll be able to steer you in the right direction.
