i have a PcChips M848ALU motherboard and with memory (Kingston 256MB DDR PC3200 400MHz 184pin CL3 Memory Module) and cpu (xp2200 i think but worked fine with old ks75a mobo) and when i start the board up either with hard drive with xp pro os and dvd drives or all drives disconnected it starts up ok then turn off then hang on start up then turn off then starts ok etc
so it will only start up ok every second time

has anyone any ideas?

What exactly happens when it 'hangs up' on every other startup, i.e., is there a display, does it freeze at a BIOS display, does it freeze at the Windows logo, etc.?
