my son was playing americas army online, when all of a sudden the game shut down and took him back to the desktop with only the very basic graphics. a screen came up which said,

the ati2dvag display driver has stopped working normally.save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality.

the specs are- win xp pro, 256 mb ram, ati radeon 9200,sp2, amd 1800 processor.

can anyone help!

That sounds really weird...

I guess the first thing I'd try is to totally redo the vid card. Uninstall the drivers, delete it out of Device Manager in Safe Mode, then reboot, let Windows find that 9200 again, and reinstall the drivers.

Have you tried shutting down and rebooting as it said? If so, have you had further problems? Have your son play the same game to see if the same thing happens.
