I was scanning my computer using Housecall from Trend micro and when i came back to the computer it said that I had a hardware failure and that i needed to try and save the file to another location(i didnt write it down which i now realise i should have). When I went to reboot it went to the startup mode select(which it never does). So I chose Safe Mode, just in case, so it goes through the loading files sequence but never passes it.

So I powered down and then chose to last known good configuration and all it got to was the windows loading screen and has been sitting there for about 20 minutes now.

Any ideas?

I would download the harddrive diagnostics from the harddrive manufacturer's website and run them...hopefully you have a floppy drive...

The diagnostics are self booting and will analyze the drive...
