I am planning on buying the Lexmark x6150 all in one ink jet printer. And the
3Com / 3CRWPS10075 / 54Mbps / 802.11g / USB 1.1 / Wireless Print Server. But before I buy the print server I want to make sure it will do what I want it to do. Here's my current pc setup.
I have one desktop pc that connects to a linksys wireless router via a wireless pci card, A laptop that connects to the linksys router via a wireless pcmcia card and another desktop pc that connects to the linksys router via ethernet cable. It's also connected to my current printer via usb cable. I am currently having to keep it turned on before I can print from one of the other comupters. But I would like to be able to printer from all 3 computers without having to keep the one connected to the printer turned on all the time.

If I buy the 3Com / 3CRWPS10075 / 54Mbps / 802.11g / USB 1.1 / Wireless Print Server. Will I be able to print from anyone of the 3 computers or would I only be able to print from the 2 wireless computers but not the one connected to the router via ethernet cable?

I hope you understand what I'm asking. I tried to explain it as best as I could.
Here's the link to the print server I want to buy.

The proposed print server will take the place of the network computer that's currently connected to the router with an ethernet cable, and things should work just fine according to your planned setup description.

This link shows the print server's specs.
It appears to have 1- RJ-45 ethernet port for your wired computer, and 1- USB 2.0 port for the printer:
http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/detail.jsp?tab=prodspec&sku=3CRWPS10075&pathtype=purchase

The data sheet d/l lists only the Lexmark 5150(MF) printer as not being compatible with this print server, so your proposed 6150 model should work ok.

I know that I'm not support to piggy back on the post. But my question is the same as KYRocker22, the differance is, I have only one wireless computer with no second computer to plug in the printer. It is posible for me to send to the printer without the computer.

Please forgive me if I should start my own post.;)

If you have only one computer that's not on a network, then just connect the printer to it.

Thanks ski.

But every time I need to print something I have to unplug everything and carry my laptop computer upstair to used it.

I hate to damaged my computer by moved it around too much. Will it?

Laptops are designed for portability. Just don't drop it. :)

It would be easier to help you if you provide a detailed description of your current situation. Thanks.
